East Carolina University’s volleyball team (22-11, 13-7 AAC) has set the most wins in program history since 1982, ending up in a program-best fourth in the American Athletic Conference. According to head coach Julie Torbett, the Pirates’ seniors have left next year’s team in a great spot for the future.
With the state of ECU athletics, volleyball is one of the lone bright spots, and in my opinion, will be one of the best, if not the best, program at ECU next year.
With a freshman setter in Shelby Martin, a freshman right side hitter in Bri Wood, a sophomore Libero in Brandee Markwith and a sophomore middle-hitter in Toya Osuegbu, the Pirates are in prime position to trend upward in their conference.
