Head coach Ruffin McNeill is starting to find that out the hard way, as East Carolina’s quarterback carousel showed no signs of slowing down after another uneven performance against BYU.
For the third week in a row, the quarterback who started for the Pirates failed to finish the game. This week it was James Summers who struggled, with Blake Kemp leading a furious fourth quarter comeback.
The inevitable controversy that comes with playing two quarterbacks started immediately. It was hard not to wonder why Kemp didn’t start the game, considering his skill set seemed far more useful against BYU’s defense.
