The Pirates (23-31) managed no runs on six hits against the Golden Hurricane (35-19). This loss puts ECU’s record in the AAC tournament at 0-2, still winless in the postseason since moving to the AAC back in 2014.
Tulsa could only manage three hits, but it was enough for the two winning runs. Freshman outfielder Julia Hollingsworth was the key to Tulsa’s offense. She hit a home run in the bottom of the third, then walked, stole a base and scored in the bottom of the sixth.
Junior left handed pitcher Lydia Ritchie started on the mound for the Pirates.
