University of South Florida’s women’s basketball team ended East Carolina University’s three-game win streak tonight with a demoralizing 41-point victory over the Pirates, 88-47.
Pirates (13-11, 5-6 AAC) now sit in sixth place in the American Athletic Conference, after the loss to No. 2 USF (18-5, 8-2 AAC).
Point guard Alex Frazier got off to a hot start in the game, making her first three shots from the field for a total of six points early in the first period. Soon after, the Pirates went on a scoring drought, where forwards Destiny Campbell, Desiree Corbin, Salita Greene, Dominique Claytor and center Thais Oliveira missed all of their shots in the first 10 minutes of the game.
