TAMPA, Fla. — Shalethia Stringfield scored a career-high 22 points and No. 19 South Florida defeated East Carolina 75-54 on Sunday.
Courtney Williams, who beat the Pirates with a last-second shot in their first meeting this season on Jan. 2, added 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls (12-4, 5-1 American Athletic Conference). Laura Ferreira finished with 16 points.
Jada Payne scored 13 points, and I’Tiana Taylor had 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds in her 10th double-double for East Carolina (8-10, 2-4), which had a two-game winning streak snapped.
ECU led 15-12 after the first quarter but was outscored in the final three periods, including 43-24 in the final two combined.
