The East Carolina University softball team, having won five in a row and eight out of nine following its 4-1 home win over Duke University yesterday, must remain hot to succeed as it opens up American Athletic Conference play this weekend.
Currently, ECU (14-16) holds the second worst record among AAC teams. In the last nine games however, ECU’s 8-1 record is better than every AAC team other than the University of South Florida (22-12), who is on a 15-game winning streak.
“This shows that we understand the ups and downs of a long season,” redshirt sophomore infielder Tate McClellan said.
