Well this is interesting: Zion Williamson is suing a company he originally signed with for marketing.
Williamson signed a deal with Gina Ford of Prime Sports Marketing of Florida in April but his court filing argues that PSM violated North Carolina state law and that the contract is therefore void.
A native of Jamaica, Ford has also represented sprinter Usain Bolt among others.
We’re guessing here but we’d assume that Williamson’s new agency, CAA, would like to have total rights and is ultimately behind the suit. Ford has described her business as a “boutique” agency and will likely have trouble facing up to CAA in court so don’t be surprised to see this settled quietly and for a fraction of the $100 million she’s after.
