DURHAM – Freshman catcher Andrew Yu blasted a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to power Team Crabtree past Team Hoyle, 3-1, in the first game of the Fall World Series on Friday evening at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Yu, a native of Nashville, Tenn., took the fifth pitch of the at-bat and sent it over the left-field wall to secure the win.
Freshman Israel Menelik opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth inning for the winning side when he earned a walk to get a runner on base.
