After the season ended, Harry Giles signed a one-year deal with Portland. He was, as people say, betting on himself.
It’s really early but it looks like a good bet so far.
Giles has been terrific in pre-season. There is no rust evident. He played against his old team, Sacramento, in the first two pre-season games and was tremendous.
In the first game, Giles scored 18 points, had 14 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. In the second, he managed 19 points, 13 boards, three assists, two steals and a block.
Now it may be that he had a particular point to make with the Kings, but whatever the reason, the guy who looked so rusty at Duke and still that way with the Kings?
