Oscar Robertson was an amazing talent. At 6-5, he averaged a triple double in 1961-62. Keep in mind that there were only nine teams so there were no days off.
Although he only won one championship after high school, no one ever doubted Robertson’s greatness. He was able to do whatever he wanted as you’ll see in this brief clip from his college career at Cincinnati.
You can see here the template of a modern player. He’s quick, versatile and powerful.
Not that he translates completely into the modern game.
Robertson was a limited ball handler by modern standards and his jump shot seems odd too.
