Rick Mount has a complex legacy. In the 1960s he was the face of Indiana high school basketball as it used to be - no competitive divisions and a statewide passion. Everyone loved it and at least until he chose a school, everyone loved Rick Mount.
The guy was a brilliant shooter, by some accounts the finest pure shooter ever. That takes in a lot of territory - Bill Sharman, Jerry West, Larry Bird, Rick Barry, Reggie Miller, Stephen Curry - the list at the top really isn't that long.
Yet he never really made it in the pros.
