There’s been a lively debate lately about who the GOAT is in the NBA but among cognizant fans, there’s no question about who the GOAT in college ball was. It was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of UCLA, and it’s not particularly close.
Jabbar, then known as Lew Alcindor, had to play freshman ball - and his team beat the UCLA varsity.

Well they were the defending national champions.
In college, Jabbar won three national championships and helped UCLA to a three-year 88-2 record and he was injured in one of those games, a famous loss to Elvin Hayes and Houston that the Bruins avenged in the Final Four.
