EUGENE, Ore. – Duke men’s golfers Adam Wood and Alex Smalley were honored for stellar 2015-16 seasons on Sunday when they were named to the PING All-East Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Wood, a sophomore, earned All-East Region honors for the second time in as many collegiate seasons, while Smalley collected the honor at the end of a standout freshman campaign.
Wood led Duke with a 71.94 stroke average in 33 rounds, marking the ninth-best single-season stroke average in program history. He finished in the top 10 at seven tournaments in 12 starts, including three top-five finishes.
