Now that the surprise resignation of Joanne P. McCallie has had some time to sink in, what now?
Duke is in a bit of a spot here. While it was clear that McCallie wouldn’t have her contract extended when it expired, resigning in June is not ideal. Duke has 10 players on the roster and limited offensive punch. And as we saw recently at Wake Forest, a coaching change can also mean player movement: when Danny Manning was let go, virtually the entire team entered the transfer protocol.
Could that happen at Duke too? Well obviously it could and there’s not a lot of time to work the secondary market.
