DURHAM, N.C. – After leading the Duke women's basketball team to consecutive victories over Longwood and Western Carolina, senior Jade Williams has been tabbed the Duke Student-Athlete of the Week.
Williams, a product of The Colony, Texas, recorded 12 points, six assists and five rebounds in the Blue Devils' season-opener versus Longwood. She then followed it up with a stellar performance against Western Carolina nearing a triple-double with a career-high 15 rebounds, nine points and a career-high eight assists.
Williams has improved her playmaking immensely from a year ago. Last season, the Lisa Leslie Award Candidate dished out 1.
