WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Duke tandem of sophomore Jade Williams and freshman Miela Goodchild combined for 31 points Sunday afternoon in Winston-Salem, N.C., as the Blue Devils downed Wake Forest, 55-44, at Lawrence Joel Memorial Coliseum.
Williams, a native of The Colony, Texas, matched a career high with 17 points to go along with six rebounds, while Goodchild tallied 14 points and three assists in 40 minutes of action.
The Blue Devils (12-14, 4-10 ACC) jumped out to an 8-0 start and the Duke defense clamped down on the Demon Deacons holding them scoreless for the first 4:47 of the contest.
