Well this seems like a reasonable proposition: Matt Jones could be a key for this year’s Duke team.
Duke has a ridiculous amount of young talent and has recruited toe-to-toe with Kentucky, which is saying something because John Calipari has been otherworldly at Kentucky.
However, he is usually missing something that Duke generally has, and that’s useful upperclassmen.
It’s where the philosophies diverge: Duke is willing to embrace the one-and-done players but melds them to older, more experienced guys like Jones (and Amile Jefferson or Marshall Plumlee).
