DURHAM, N.C. - Thanks to the program's first grand slam courtesy of Amelia Wiercioch, the Duke Blue Devils (11-6) took down the Lehigh Mountain Hawks (2-6) to the tune of 5-3 to close out day two of the Duke Inaugural Tournament on Saturday.
The Blue Devils used eight hits and five runs batted in to power past Lehigh, using Wiercioch's fourth-inning grand slam to erase a two-run lead for the Mountain Hawks and put the home side ahead for good.
Lehigh struck first on a fielding error, going up 1-0 and holding the lead until a Jameson Kavel RBI double in third tied things up.
