DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University Women's Golf Associate Head Coach Jon Whithaus has been named the 2020-21 Division I Golf Pride Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Assistant Coach of the Year as announced on Wednesday.
Since joining Duke as an assistant coach in 2014, Whithaus has helped lead the Blue Devils to an NCAA Championship in 2019, two NCAA Regional titles, three ACC Championships and six postseason appearances.
After not competing in the fall of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Duke finished in the top three in every tournament throughout the spring 2021 season, including first-place finishes at the Gamecock Intercollegiate, Cavalier Match Play and the ACC Championships.
