Nothing has been signed yet so it’s anything but official. However, Duke is clearly negotiating with Boston Celtics assistant Kara Lawson and if they can come to terms, she’ll succeed Joanne P. McCauley as Duke’s women’s basketball coach.
So what do we know?
Well she’s a winner.
She won at Tennessee with Pat Head Summit where we believe she made three Final Fours. She won a WNBA title in 2005 and Olympic gold in 2008.
She has broadcast skills and that will come in handy.
The most intriguing thing to us though is that Brad Stevens has raved about her.
