One of the downsides of living in the Southeast is hurricane season. You just never know what to expect. Not too long after we started this site, Hurricane Fran roared through Raleigh and knocked us off line for a couple of weeks.
You never know what to expect. Hurricane Floyd basically drowned every hog east of I-95 and flushed out the hog lagoons too. In the last few years, New Bern and Lumberton have had massive, pick-people-off-the-roof type floods. Not too long ago, a storm seemed certain to pass North Carolina and move up the coast when it turned and made straight for the Triangle.
