Former Blue Devil Vernon Carey just signed with the Charlotte Hornets and as it turns out, his contract is a bit unusual.
Carey got a four-year deal with three guaranteed.
- In his first year, he’s getting $898,310. Year Two will see him getting $1,517,981. Year Three, $1,782,621 and Year Four (not guaranteed) $1,930,681.
That adds up to $6,129,593 and that’s all that far off of late first-round money.
The 30th pick of this year’s draft, Desmond Bane out of TCU, will get this for three years:
- $1,613,700
- $1,694,300
- $1,775,200
That works out to 5,083,200.
