COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2015 USA Basketball Women’s U19 World Championship Team that Duke sophomore Azurá Stevens helped lead to a gold medal over the summer in Russia was named co-recipient of the 2015 USA Basketball Team of the Year Award as announced Thursday.
The squad received the award along with the 2015 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Championship Team that also won a gold medal in Greece.
“These two USA U19 teams represented the United States with tremendous sportsmanship and teamwork on their way to gold medals, ” said Jim Tooley, USA Basketball CEO/Executive Director.
