POZNAN, Poland – Competition at the 2018 World Rowing Under 23 Championships kicked off this week as head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno and rising senior Isabel Ruby-Hill battled on the water Wednesday as members of the U.S. and Canada’s women’s 8+ team.
Ruby-Hill helped guide Canada to a first-place finish in heat 1 with a time of 6:21.700, barely edging out the U.S., which clocked in at 6:24.960. Germany jumped out to an early lead through the first 500m before falling to third, allowing the U.S. to jump into second while Canada took the lead for the rest of the race.
