BALTIMORE, Md. – A pair of incoming Blue Devil freshmen took part in the 2019 Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Game Saturday. The contest was sent into overtime for the third consecutive year, with Lexi Schmalz and the North squad taking home a 14-13 victory.
Schmalz, who hails from Needham, Mass., had one ground ball and one draw control in the midfield while future Duke teammate Ainsley Thurston of Belle Isle, Fla., recorded one goal, one assist and one draw control for the South team. Thurston’s unassisted tally knotted up the contest at 12-12 inside the final eight minutes.
