Two N.C. High School Athletic Association football championship games will be played at Duke’s Wallace-Wade Stadium next fall, the NCHSAA announced Thursday. Duke has not hosted an NCHSAA football championship since 2006.
Two games moving to Duke will mean the eight championship games will now be evenly divided among four venues, according to the NCHSAA release. N.C. State, Wake Forest and North Carolina will continue to host title games.
North Carolina is the only venue that splits its title games between Friday night and Saturday afternoon. N.C. State and Wake Forest would host three games on Saturday, with exception to the year Keenan Stadium was under renovation.
