OMAHA, Neb. – Duke swimming alumnus Ashley Twichell advanced to the finals of the 1,500-meter freestyle on Tuesday morning in Wave II of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Neb.
Twichell, who graduated in 2011 from Duke with a degree in psychology, placed third in the opening preliminaries of the 1,500m freestyle with a time of 16:03.39. Her time secured her a spot in the finals of the event, which will compete Wednesday night. The top two finishers in the final will qualify for the Olympic team in that event.
