When the San Antonio Spurs picked Duke point guard Tre Jones with the 40th pick in the 2020 draft, it was generally understood that he was going to get some development time.
And that was fine - because the Spurs are legendary for spotting talent late in the draft and helping those players to become solid NBA players.
It looks like Jones is on track to be the next.
He’s spent some time in the G-League this season and is starting to see some court time. Against the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night, Jones had five points and five assists in 19 minutes and his teammates clearly appreciate him, as you’ll see here.
