Tre Jones named ACC Player of Year, Vernon Carey Jr. Rookie of Year

It's almost a foregone conclusion now that as Duke basketball player will win the ACC Player and Rookie of the Year Award.

However, while still true, things were a little different in Durham as two players won the awards instead of one player taking home both recognitions.

The sophomore point guard, Tre Jones, was named as the ACC's Player of the Year after averaging 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game on 42.3 percent shooting from the field and 36.1 percent from 3-point range in the regular season.

Jones received 34 vote for the ACC Player of the Year Award, as he beat out the Preseason Player of the Year, Jordan Nwora, who received 17 votes.
