1. Duke wins the 2015 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship
The top Duke story of the year was the men’s basketball team and head coach Mike Krzyzewski earning their 5th NCAA title, defeating Wisconsin 68-63 on April 6th, 2015. The 2014-15 season also had numerous storylines on their way to the championship game, including Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor forming a friendship since they were kids and committing to play together in college to form a package deal with Justise Winslow, Grayson Allen‘s breakout performances in the Final Four, senior guard Quinn Cook ending his career with a national title, 3 first round NBA Draft picks, and several more that we’ll see later on in this list.
