For the second straight year, Syracuse guard Tyus Battle ranks as the ACC’s top returning scorer. His 17.2 points per game were only the league’s fifth-best in 2019. But those ahead of him -- two freshmen (R.J. Barrett and Zion Williamson of Duke) and seniors Marcquise Reid of Clemson and Ky Bowman of BC -- are no longer around, leaving Battle atop holdover scorers.
The 6-6 guard, who explored his NBA options before returning for his senior season, paced the Orange in point production for the second straight season. He’s the first player to repeat as top returning ACC scorer since Virginia Tech’s Malcolm Delaney in 2011.
