DURHAM, N.C. – Recent graduate Shannon Tierney was named Second Team All-America by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA), while classmates Isabel Ruby-Hill and Sophie Simister were named All-America Honorable Mention.
The All-America honor is Tierney’s first of her career. The Hackettstown, N.J., native, who sat in the V8 boat the entire season, earned a silver medal at the ACC Championships in the V8 race, helping Duke complete a record breaking season. Duke earned its first gold medal at the ACC Championship in school history in the V4 boat, while the V8, 2V8, 2V4 and 3V8 all earned silver medals.
