DURHAM – Three home runs in the bottom of the third inning helped guide No. 5 Duke to a 14-1 victory over Gardner-Webb on Tuesday night at Duke Softball Stadium.
With the win, the Blue Devils improve to 40-6 overall and have now registered 40-plus wins in four straight seasons. Gardner-Webb drops to 30-19 overall on the year.
Freshman Amiah Burgess and sophomore D'Auna Jennings led the offense, both finishing 3-for-3 at the plate. The duo also combined to drive in seven of Duke's 14 runs on the night.
