CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Redshirt senior extended his season Friday afternoon after placing second overall at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Charlottesville, Va., securing an auto berth into the NCAA National Championships Nov. 21 in Louisville, Ky. Thompson, who covered the 10-kilometer course at the Panorama Farms in a time of 29:11.7, becomes the 14th Blue Devil in program history, and the first since Andrew Brodeaur accomplished the feat in 2011, to garner All-Southeast Region honors.
