PRINCETON, N.J. -- Redshirt senior Shaun Thompson, competing against stout competition and blustery winds, earned his first victory of the 2015 cross country season, while also pacing the Blue Devils to a sixth-place finish at the Princeton Inter-Regional Meet in Princeton, N.J., Saturday morning. Thompson, who clocked an eight-kilometer time of 23:34.9, finished over 30 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, Thomas Curtin of Virginia Tech.
“We got out really well,” head coach Norm Ogilvie said. “The kids were running really well. We were well positioned. We just came up short over the last mile, but I was very pleased with how the guys reversed the trend of how we weren’t aggressive last year.
