Thomas Hennessy made his way from the bottom of the NFL all the way up to a franchise caliber long snapper as the former Duke Blue Devil signed a four-year extension with the New York Jets on Saturday.
The deal is worth up to $4.4 million with $1 million in guaranteed money.
In his four seasons at Duke, Hennessy accumulated four total tackles and one sack before going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Hennessy was signed by the Indianapolis Colts and added to its practice square before being traded to the New York Jets during his first training camp and beating out long-time long snapper Tanner Purdum for the Jets job.
