Only two of the ACC’s 10 worst returning foul shooters are repeat offenders from last season: Georgia Tech’s Corey Hayward and Duke’s Amile Jefferson.
The Yellow Jacket guard, son of former Pitt player and NFL running back Craig "Ironhead" Heyward, was 6 of 13 from the line in 2014. That’s .462 acuity. Last season he made one more of his 13 free throws, and so improved to .538. This year Heyward is a junior.
Meanwhile Duke’s Amile Jefferson showed a bit more improvement from 2014 to 2015, but not enough to quit being a liability at the line.
