Entering the game with a 5-6 record, the Blue Devils needed a victory to secure bowl eligibility. Wake Forest was clinging to a 23-17 lead to open the fourth quarter, but a Daniel Jones one-yard touchdown run put Duke ahead 24-23 with 13:53 to play.
