The bullpen that carried Duke to its first NCAA tournament regional title last weekend wasn’t able to hold Texas Tech down in Saturday’s super regional opener.
The No. 9 seeded Red Raiders scored four runs off Duke relievers, coming from behind twice to beat the Blue Devils 6-4 in game one of the Lubbock super regional at Rip Griffin Park.
After trailing 3-0 early in Saturday’s game, Texas Tech (43-17) needs a win over Duke in Sunday’s second game to win the best-of-three series and advance to the College World Series.
Duke (44-17) needs a win for force a deciding game three on Monday.
