DURHAM – Duke women's basketball senior Celeste Taylor has been tabbed Duke's PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week, following her strong performance in the Blue Devils' 71-48 win at Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday.
Taylor filled up the stat sheet en route to the 23-point victory, scoring 14 points to reach 1,000 points for her career. The Valley Stream, N.Y. native also grabbed four boards, blocked three shots and collected a team-high five steals.
She became the second Blue Devil in as many seasons to achieve the benchmark, joining classmate Elizabeth Balogun, who surpassed the 1,000-point threshold during Duke's 58-49 win at Miami last season (Jan.
