DURHAM – Duke baseball freshman closer James Tallon has been selected the PNC Achievers Duke Student-Athlete of the Week following his two save performance at No. 11 Boston College last weekend.
The Arlington, Va., native collected two saves, moving his season total to eight, helping the Blue Devils clinch their first road series victory over a ranked opponent since 2018.
The rookie slammed the door in game one of the series on Friday, working one hitless inning, striking out a pair of Eagles. Tallon continued his successful weekend, pitching the final two innings on Sunday, not allowing a hit and striking out three.
