DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University students celebrated Valentine’s Day by learning about heart health, taking part in “Just Beat It to Save Lives” in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Organized by field hockey senior Amanda Kim and members of the Duke Marketing Club, the event featured three CPR training sessions conducted by representatives from the Duke Heart Center. Participants utilized CPR practice torsos and automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to replicate administering CPR in the event of a medical emergency. The participants also were instructed on proper Heimlich maneuver techniques to perform on an individual who is choking.
