DURHAM, N.C. – In his first season as a Blue Devil, freshman Garrett Johns put together an impressive 21-5 singles record on the year while going 12-1 in dual action.
Starting off his career at Duke, Johns posted a 9-4 mark in the fall. He earned his first career dual victory at Hawai'I on Jan. 8 and his lone loss of the spring was a three-set battle against No. 17 Tennessee's Pat Harper on court six. Johns edged No. 14 Wake Forest's Eduardo Nava on court five in a super tiebreaker before winning what would be his last match of the year at North Florida.
