ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The accolades continue to roll in for sophomore Azurá Stevens, who was tabbed the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week Tuesday by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA). Stevens also collected ACC Player of the Week recognition for her performance in Duke victories over Clemson and North Carolina.
Stevens, a 6-6 forward/guard who hails from Raleigh, N.C., averaged 29.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals in the pair of ACC contests while going a perfect 11-for-11 at the free throw line.
In Thursday’s 72-43 win at Clemson, she poured in a career-high 33 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field and added seven rebounds and four assists.
