LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Duke sophomore Azurá Stevens was among those named to the John R. Wooden Midseason Top 20, as announced by the Los Angeles Athletic Club Friday. The 20 student-athletes are considered frontrunners for basketball’s most prestigious individual honor, based on their performances during the first half of the 2015-16 season.
A preseason second team All-America selection, Stevens has guided the Blue Devils to a 12-6 ledger. The 6-6 forward from Raleigh, N.C., is averaging 17.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals entering Sunday’s ACC tilt against Boston College.
