DURHAM, N.C. – The duo of Ella Stevens and Mackenzie Coles have been named Duke women’s soccer team captains for the upcoming 2019 campaign, head coach Robbie Church announced Monday. The captains were named following a team vote.
Stevens has seen action in 71-career matches, starting 61 of those at both the midfield and forward slots. The Grayson, Ga., native has been one of the best in program history when it comes to assists, dishing out 28 through her first three seasons. That puts her fourth in DWS history and 14 behind the school record of 42 held by Andi Melde (1994-97).
