DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke pitcher Mitch Stallings earned 2019 All-Star distinction, while being selected as the Appalachian League Pitcher of the Year, announced by the league Friday afternoon.
Stallings, a former member of the Danville Braves—the Rookie Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, was recently called up to the Rome Braves—the Class A affiliate of the Braves organization on Aug. 15 after a stellar season in Danville. He was tabbed the league's All-Star left-handed pitcher after posting a 3-5 record in 11 games, including nine starts.
