DURHAM –Duke attackman Michael Sowers has been named one of the five finalists for the 2021 Tewaaraton Award as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation Friday. The award is presented annually to the top men and women's lacrosse players.
A native of Dresher, Pa., this is Sowers' second time being a finalist for the prestigious award, earning recognition in 2019 as a junior at Princeton.
Sowers becomes the ninth Blue Devil to earn the distinction of being a Tewaaraton Award finalist. Two Blue Devils have won the award – Matt Danowski (2007) and Ned Crotty (2010).
