Nobody really expected Fort Valley State to provide much of a test for Duke Wednesday night.
And they didn’t, losing to Duke 126-57.
Duke did almost everything well, 29 assists, 61 percent shooting from the field, a 43-25 dominance on the boards.
But Fort Valley State isn’t very good.
So, how much of what we saw against the Wildcats will translate against better competition, which frankly will be everyone else on the schedule?
Conventional basketball wisdom is that shooting comes and goes but defense sticks around.
“That’s something we want to hang our hats on,” Jack White said of Duke’s defense.
