Solomon Places 13th in 400m at Olympics

TOKYO – Duke track & field alumni Steven Solomon completed his run at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, taking 13th overall and finishing third in his semifinal of the 400m on Monday.

Solomon turned in a run of 45.15 seconds, placing third overall in the second of three semifinals behind American Michael Cherry and Jamaican Christopher Taylor. His run fell 0.24 seconds short of the second automatic qualifying spot, forcing him into qualification for the top-two remaining times. However, due to a first semifinal in which five runners broke 45 seconds, Solomon's mark fell just shy of qualification to the final.
